Our Horses

Meet Our Herd

  • Paris ("Peanut")

This little lady rounds out the girls in the mini herd. Paris — better known as Peanut — is a 5-year-old miniature bay mare who loves attention and happily accepts affection from people of all ages. She enjoys off-site visits and community programming, where her friendly personality truly shines.

  • Adriana

This lovely lady is a 20-year-old miniature horse and an excellent cart driver. A former show horse, you’ll often find her prancing when she’s led around. We say Adriana is full of spunk — though she might prefer to say she’s full of “pomp and circumstance.” With her fluffy white coat, mane, and tail, she’s often lovingly referred to as our unicorn.

  • Romeo

Also known as our lover boy, Romeo is a 6-year-old miniature gelding who is always ready to stand close and share affection. He is working on his handling and cart-driving skills and is often the first mini to seek out human connection. Romeo also proudly sports the best “rockstar” hair in the entire group.

  • Candy

Our only pony, Candy is an 18-year-old member of the herd who has been refreshing her cart-driving skills. She lives in the pasture with the American Miniatures and is slightly larger in size. Candy enjoys having a job to do — whether that’s being ridden by children or hauling multiple adults around the property. She receives a carefully managed diet with medication and supplements to support her health.

  • Santiago ("Santi")

This dreamy boy is a 18-year-old Arabian gelding affectionately known as “Santi.” Often described as the distinguished grandfather or elderly professor of the herd, Santi carries himself with quiet wisdom and a gentle soul. With an easy-going personality and “more whoa than go,” he is a steady and trusted partner in adaptive riding sessions. A true barn favorite, Santi brings calm confidence to everyone he meets.

  • Luke

Luke is a gorgeous 9-year-old Haflinger with a strong build and a sensitive heart. He spent his early years working as a draft horse on a Midwestern Amish farm and is now beginning his cart-driving training. Recently outfitted with new tack, Luke is preparing to give rides to staff and volunteers as part of his program development. Think of Luke as the high-school sports superstar of the herd — cool, confident, and impossible to ignore.

  • Ivan

Ivan is a 10-year-old POA gelding who joined the herd in Spring 2025. He is currently in training for the riding program and is quickly settling into ranch life. Smart, sweet, and curious, Ivan is developing the skills needed to support mounted sessions in the future.

  • Jojo

Officially named Josephina Patricia, JoJo is a 3-year-old mare born on March 17, 2022, right here at the Horses Help SWI ranch. She is regularly handled and groomed as she learns the ropes and continues her development. JoJo currently participates in select groundwork programs and brings curiosity, energy, and plenty of personality to the herd as she prepares for future therapy work.

  • Sukie

Sukie is a 19-year-old Percheron mare with a beautiful gray coat and a gentle expression. A true gentle giant, she participates in both ground-based activities and riding programs, offering steady support to participants.

  • Coco

Coco is a 12-year-old chestnut Quarter Horse mare who came to us through the generosity of a local family who felt that serving the needs of others would be a great fit for her. She is currently in training for programming and is always eager to greet visitors at the gate.
